Fremont, CA, May 5, 2009 - AMAX and Clustercorp today announced the immediate availability of the AMAX ServMax 4100 Series HPC Clusters, preloaded with Rocks+ 5, the commercial version of the Rocks Cluster Distribution for Linux users. The joint solution is fully certified as Intel Cluster Ready and ships with Intel Cluster Checker preloaded and pre-tuned.
The ServMax 4100 Series is high in performance and functionality, yet relatively low in cost for those who want to harness the power of high performance computing (HPC) without the complexity of traditional clusters. Purpose-built for offices, laboratories and university departments, it is the world's highest-performing computer that uses standard office power.
"Utilizing Rocks+ and Intel Cluster Ready, the ServMax 4100 series makes it easier for customers to purchase, deploy, and manage Intel® processor-based HPC clusters and maintain the confidence that the system will work just as it should, right out of the box," said James Huang, Product Marketing Manager at AMAX.
Rocks+ is the commercial version of the Rocks Cluster Distribution - an end-to-end HPCC software stack, which includes the operating system, cluster management middleware, libraries, and compilers; with enterprise class commercial support from Clustercorp, which was founded by the leaders in the Rocks community.
"Clustercorp is thrilled to add Rocks+ 5 to AMAX's ServMax 4100 Series launch," said Tim McIntire, president and co-founder of Clustercorp. "The design of the ServMax 4100 Series - including simplicity and repeatability - line up perfectly with the principle goals behind Clustercorp's Rocks+ product line."
